Kyla Aimone, Ph.D.

Kyla Aimone, Ph.D., is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist at The Center for Cognitive Therapy and Assessment in Falls Church and Alexandria, Virginia. Dr. Aimone works with children and adolescents who are struggling with ADHD, anxiety, mood disorders, developmental delays, and sleep difficulties. Using an integrated and collaborative approach, Dr. Aimone works with her clients to develop the coping skills needed to handle their specific needs.

Dr. Aimone earned her clinical psychology doctorate from the Illinois Institute of Technology (an APA accredited institution) and completed her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral training at Advocate Illinois Masonic Pediatric Developmental Center in Chicago.

Dr. Aimone received training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and behavioral management strategies through her graduate program and various training sites including the Pediatric Developmental Center, John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County (Chicago, IL), and Northwest Community Behavioral Health Services (Chicago, IL). In addition, Dr. Aimone received extensive training in developmental, psychoeducational, and neuropsychological assessment of infants, children, and adolescents through her training sites at the University of Illinois—Chicago, the Pediatric Developmental Center, and Northwestern Memorial Hospital (Chicago, IL).

Dr. Aimone has also received training in Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), a parent-focused intervention that helps families better understand their anxious child and reduce their child’s anxiety.

Helping children, adolescents, and young adults with ADHD and/or autism spectrum disorders learn about their strengths and discover ways to support their challenges is Dr. Aimone’s passion. She provides education and support to their families as well, as parents are an integral part of their support system.

The Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards has authorized Dr. Aimone to practice telepsychology under the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT). She can provide telepsychology services for patients in any state covered by PSYPACT.
