About The Center For Cognitive Therapy and Assessment

The Center for Cognitive Therapy and Assessment (CCTA) is a mental health clinic that specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). With two convenient locations in Falls Church and Alexandria, Virginia, the practice offers comprehensive treatment for all types of mood and behavioral disorders in children, adolescents, and adults.

Founded by licensed clinical psychologist Katie O’Meara, Psy.D., in 2005, the practice continues to expand by the year, bringing on warm, compassionate, talented clinicians who specialize in a wide range of treatment modalities.

Practicing evidence-based care is essential for developing targeted treatment plans at the Center for Cognitive Therapy and Assessment.

CCTA’s experienced clinicians implement various techniques into their care, including play therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), group, and psychodynamic therapy. The practice also emphasizes collaboration by including parents and caregivers in their treatments.

CCTA clinicians offer parent coaching and co-parenting counseling for families adapting to changes, such as divorce, separation, grief, aggressive behaviors, and other situational difficulties. In addition, many of the clinicians are certified in Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), a parent-based intervention for families of children with anxiety.

The Center for Cognitive Therapy and Assessment also provides a complete range of assessments and testing services, including psychological evaluations for children and adults, admissions testing for independent schools, and psychoeducational testing.
