The Center for Cognitive Therapy and Assessment (CCTA) is now accepting and welcomes applications for our 2025-26 Postdoctoral Residency. CCTA was founded by Dr. Katie O’Meara in 2005, with a vision to provide evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to children and teens in the Northern Virginia community. Since that time, CCTA has grown to a team of more than 20 full and part-time multidisciplinary staff focused on treating patients across the lifespan using a range of interventions, including psychodynamic therapy, play therapy, ERP for OCD, Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), trauma treatment and EMDR, coparenting and collaborative divorce consultation, group therapy, and psychological assessment.
Residents typically engage in approximately 20-25 hours of direct client contact per week. A hallmark of the CCTA residency is the opportunity for flexibility in building a training program that best fits your clinical interests and training goals. There is ample opportunity to engage in a combination of individual therapy, psychological assessment, and group therapy based on the candidate’s interest.
Each postdoctoral resident is a full employee of the practice and may choose to apply for a full or part-time residency. Residents will receive weekly individual and group supervision and participate in ongoing didactic trainings in both cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic/integrative therapies. Additional supervision will be provided for residents engaging in psychological testing.
CCTA offers full-time clerical and administrative support, allowing our clinicians to focus fully on the clinical needs of their clients, professional development, and training goals. We are thrilled that many of our past residents continue with the practice as full-time staff after achieving licensure and we are excited to welcome new candidates to our training program and staff team.
Those interested should submit a statement of interest, CV, and writing sample (deidentified testing report if interested in completing assessment or case conceptualization if interested in therapy only) to Dr. Adam Rosen (arosen@centerforcbtva.com), Director of Clinical Services. More information on the practice can be found at the Center for Cognitive Therapy and Assessment website, centerforcbtva.com.
