Adam Rosen, PsyD, is a licensed clinical psychologist who is passionate about providing evidenced based and compassionate care to children, adolescents, and families at the Center for Cognitive Therapy and Assessment in Falls Church and Alexandria, VA. Dr. Rosen earned his doctoral degree in clinical psychology from The George Washington University on the Child and Adolescent Track and trained in a variety of settings, including therapeutic schools, community mental health clinics, integrated primary health care centers, intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs, and forensic assessment. He completed his pre-doctoral internship at The Help Group in Sherman Oaks, California and Postdoctoral Psychology Residency at Community Health Center Inc. and The Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut with a Child and Adolescent Concentration. Each of these settings and communities have contributed to Dr. Rosen’s skillset in individual, group, and family therapies, play therapy, parent guidance work, multidisciplinary and school consultation, and psychological assessment. He has experience working with children, teens, and young adults with a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, mood difficulties, complex trauma, neurodiverse presentations (such as ADHD and autism spectrum disorder), family conflict, identity development, behavioral difficulties, life transitions, and severe mental illness. Dr. Rosen understands that beginning therapy can be a difficult yet important step, and therefore strives to create a brave space where client concerns are centered, and feedback is encouraged to create a warm and safe environment for a trusting therapeutic relationship to grow. Close collaboration with parents, caregivers, and families is always welcomed. His goal is to tailor each treatment to your unique identity, culture, family system, and strengths, while helping patients understand the origins of their struggles, find empowerment, and begin utilizing new tools and solutions to build increasingly rewarding lives.
As the Center for Cognitive Therapy and Assessment celebrates our 20th anniversary, we are also announcing that starting this fall, we will be changing the name of our practice to Expand Psychology. This change reflects our commitment to meet the ever evolving mental health needs of our clients and the community.
Since our founding, our clinical team has developed to include specialists who provide a wider range of evidence-based therapies, allowing us to serve additional client populations from infancy through adulthood, expanding our ability to work with the entire family system. Our new name captures the depth of our current services, including our ability to provide psychological testing and autism evaluation for all ages.
A new website will launch on October 3, 2025 – with a wider scope of mental health services to support you.
We continue to accept new clients during the transition and you can reach out to us via our online form at on current site, at contact@centerforcbtva.com, or phone at 703-618-0900.
