Anna Missner, M.Psy.

Anna Missner is a psychology extern at The Center for Cognitive Therapy and Assessment in Falls Church and Alexandria, Virginia. She is a third-year Clinical Psychology doctoral candidate at The George Washington University Professional Psychology (PsyD) Program.
Anna works with children, adolescents, and young adults with an array of psychological concerns, including anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and behavioral challenges. She has provided individual and group therapy to clients in community mental health, school, and intensive treatment camp settings. She also has an interest in conducting comprehensive psychological assessments for individuals across the lifespan.

Anna brings a warm, compassionate, and collaborative approach to her work. She aims to help clients navigate life’s challenges by gaining insight into their experiences, establishing goals, and finding paths to achieve them. She strives to empower clients with a sense of agency and confidence to foster psychological growth and emotional well-being. Anna is dedicated to building strong, trusting therapeutic relationships and values the unique identities, backgrounds, and experiences each client brings. She draws on psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral theories to tailor treatment to each individual, and she enjoys incorporating playfulness and silliness in her work with children to help them engage and enjoy the therapeutic process.

Anna earned her Bachelor of Arts from Georgetown University where she majored in psychology and minored in disability studies.
