Presley Scott, M.Psy

Presley Scott, M.Psy. is a psychology extern at The Center for Cognitive Therapy and Assessment in Falls Church and Alexandria, Virginia. She is a third-year Clinical Psychology doctoral candidate at The George Washington University Professional Psychology (PsyD) Program.

Presley works with individuals across the lifespan experiencing diverse concerns, including anxiety, depression, relational difficulties, and trauma. She has provided individual and group therapy, and comprehensive psychological assessments to clients in community mental health and school settings. Presley tailors treatment to address each client’s unique needs by combining psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral theories.

With a posture of empathy and compassionate listening, Presley seeks to build trusting and collaborative client relationships. It is her hope that each client feels invited to bring all aspects of who they are into their treatment, including their ethnic, racial, cultural identities. She strives to empower clients by enhancing self-awareness, identifying barriers to personal flourishing, and cultivating new behaviors and patterns that result in clients leading more personally fulfilling lives. While therapy can be challenging and requires hard work, Presley firmly believes that it can also include fun, playfulness, and humor, when appropriate.

Prior to pursuing her doctoral studies, Presley worked with a global consulting firm providing psychological services to humanitarian and human rights organizations. Presley graduated with honors from Marymount Manhattan College, majoring in Psychology and Dance. She received her Master of Psychology (M.Psy) from George Washington University.
When not studying or in the office, Presley enjoys cooking, arranging flowers, spending time with loved ones, or traveling.
