Gabriella Iskin, Psy.D.

Gabriella Iskin, Psy.D, is a postdoctoral fellow at The Center for Cognitive Therapy and Assessment. Dr. Iskin works with individuals across the lifespan. She has a particular interest in working with, and helping, folks who experience various personal challenges related to anxiety, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), complex family dynamics, depression, life transitions, relational challenges, and trauma. She also provides comprehensive psychological and educational testing for individuals of all ages. Additionally, Dr. Iskin is passionate about supporting individuals in their maternal mental health journey. She is also fluent in English and Russian.

Dr. Iskin has provided individual therapy, group therapy, social skills training, and psychological assessment in various treatment settings, such as The Center Clinic at George Washington University and College Learning Experience where she worked with college students and adults, as well as Expressive Therapy Center and Confident Kids Camp for Selective Mutism where she worked with children and adolescents. She previously externed at The Center for Cognitive Therapy and Assessment providing therapy and admissions testing to children and adolescents and is excited to return! She interned at Maimonides Medical Center across inpatient units, a community mental health clinic, the emergency room, and bedside hospital consultation-liaison services.

Dr. Iskin’s approach to therapy is integrative, collaborative, and inclusive. First and foremost, she aims to create a safe and trusting environment for each individual she works with. She focuses on assessing and meeting the unique needs of each individual. Dr. Iskin focuses on understanding current challenges, while thinking critically about an individual’s history, family dynamics, and factors of identity and trauma. She draws from various treatment methods, such as psychodynamic therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She also utilizes tools such as mindfulness, art, and play when appropriate.

Dr. Iskin earned her doctoral degree in clinical psychology at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She completed her predoctoral training, accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY

Prior to receiving her masters and doctoral degree, Dr. Iskin earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Georgetown University. When she is not working, you will find her reading a book, trying out a new baking recipe, traveling, or dancing.
